Written by Shreen Amin, Director, Children’s Museum; Egyptian Museum, Cairo Egypt, ITP Fellow 2016
We are very happy to share the second entry of the Fellows’ Publications page on the ITP blogsite. Shreen Amin (ITP 2016) has shared her latest research paper, looking at heritage management in Egypt. Shreen shares the following message to the network below:
it is my honour to share with you my recent research on Heritage Management in Egypt which is a point of analysis. The Egyptian Heritage includes a wide range of types. They must be defined carefully, and the criteria by which to determine their importance should be developed. The study provides a basic introduction to the international key definitions and concepts for heritage management. The study elaborates on laws and legislation governing the management of heritage focusing on the case of Egypt; and a Proposed Strategy for Heritage Management in Egypt, also I have provided an Outlook on Museums in Egypt.
I have published two papers recently from my PhD in the International Journal of Heritage and Museum Studies
The first one is Mapping Industrial Heritage Sites in Egypt: Identification & Management, Article 5, Volume 2, Issue 1, October 2020, Page 79-92 read my paper here: https://ijhms.journals.ekb.eg/article_188747.html
The second one is Adopting Conservation Policies for Industrial Heritage Museums: A Case Study of the Railways Museum, Cairo Egypt, Article 6, Volume 2, Issue 1, October 2020, Page 93-108. Read my paper here: https://ijhms.journals.ekb.eg/article_188752.html
