Biography

As a media and marketing officer, Haneen handles media plans and budgets and develops digital content and traditional media – developing new social media strategies and campaigns to strengthen the way her institution communicates.

An important step in Haneen’s career was when the first archiving project in the Museum was launched, with Haneen handling the coordination of researchers and working alongside communities. Following this with the management of communications for the inauguration of the Museum, including the exhibition Jerusalem Lives.

Professional interests include the underground/alternative cinema scene in the Middle East and the combination of archival content and social media; exploring the relationship between social media as an accessible platform to communities and the archival content that was previously exclusive to museums. Haneen is also producing a series of podcasts as a personal project, highlighting stories from the archive at the Palestinian Museum.

At the British Museum
During her time on the International Training Programme, Haneen was based in the Middle East Department and her partner placement was spent at Glasgow Museums.

Haneen worked with Mario Tuki (Rapa Nui) and Osaru Obaseki (Nigeria) on her Object in focus project. Their exhibition proposal was titled Deciphering the Ba-Bird.
