Yara Abbas

Yara is working on research projects with artists Basel Abbas and Ruanne Abou Rahmeh and the Palestinian Museum. She intends to pursue further study in due course.

Previously Yara was a research assistant at the Palestinian Museum, for one of the Museum’s projects, Palestinian Journeys, Yara focused on audiovisual material that coverd events and personalities from the history of Palestine from the past two hundred years. She also conducted oral history interviews, searched through documents and newspapers using online digital archives, reviewed exploratory researches done by colleagues and organised the files and folders of the project, amongst other responsibilities.

At the British Museum
During her time on the International Training Programme in 2016, Yara was based in the Middle East Department. Her UK Partner museum was Glasgow Museums.

Yara’s exhibition project proposal was entitled General Views: From Bethany to al-Eizariya.

Yara’s place on the ITP was generously generously supported by the Barakat Trust.
