Objectives
This following contextual session aims to give you information that will ‘set the scene’ for the International Training Programme 2022 and our e-Learning.
We will introduce you to the Programme, the British Museum, culture and heritage in the UK and our cohort 2022. Our UK Partner colleagues have also recorded short films to give you the opportunity to e-meet and get to know them before you meet them properly, online and in person.
Objectives
We will introduce you to the Museum, the International Training Programme and the ITP team. We will ensure that you have a full understanding of the ITP and our expectations of the Programme.
You will have the opportunity to ‘e-meet’ colleagues from our UK Partner museums.
You will also have the opportunity to hear more about culture and heritage in the UK from Mark Bates, Head of Governance and Planning, to help you understand how the sector is structured and funded.
And perhaps most importantly, you will be able to view the short, 5-minute presentations recorded by our fellow participants on the ITP which will tell you more about them, their background, work and interests. This will help all of us to get to know each other and to learn something about everyone’s institution and its collections.
You can find more information about the contextual session of your e-Learning and information about the facilitators of this session in the session guidelines. Please select the ‘Materials’ tab on the top of the lesson page to access your guidelines document.
