A trip to Brighton and a fascinating evening at the Phantom of the Opera

It’s Sunday afternoon and looking back at our week, many adventures took place.

Starting from Wednesday morning we took a train to Brighton, leaving the sun in London and finding Brighton not at all bright. Starting our visit with Brighton Museum and Art Gallery, we had a wonderful introduction about the museum projects and collaborations from Sarah Posey, Helen Mears and Rachel Hurst. While the rain was pouring hard we managed to reach the Pier for fresh fish and chips. In the afternoon we visited the Royal Pavilion, a pavilion that was for the seaside pleasure of King George IV.

At that time it was very much inspired by the Chinese art for interior and a mixture of northern Indian and Chinese architecture for the façade. It was also served as a civic building, First World War hospital and now is an icon of Brighton.

On Friday evening we had a wonderful surprise from ITP team and attended Her Majesty’s Theatre to watch the musical play of the Phantom of the Opera.  A magnificent performance of the famous French novel. From our seat we could feel the heat of the fire rising and even inhale the fog coming out of the mysterious lake where the Phantom was living.

We ended our day and let’s say our week in a Soho Japanese restaurant being overwhelmed by the show and the amount of pictures we took.
