In response to ITP fellows seeking support to attend conferences and carry out research, the ITP offers financial assistance for fellows to attend and participate in conferences and to conduct research which will help develop professional skills and networks in the museum and heritage sector.

Successful fellows are able to demonstrate the relevance of attending a conference or carrying out research, to their professional needs and development. ITP also like to see how an applicant’s conference attendance or proposed research draws on experiences from the ITP summer programme and legacy work.

We ask successful grant applicants to document the progress of their grant so it can be shared with the ITP network. Typically, fellows will produce a blog, report and a short film to document their experience.

New grant opportunities are announced yearly on the ITP blog. Previous ITP grants can be viewed in our archive below.

2026

Collaboration Grants

2026 marks the 20th anniversary of the International Training Programme. To celebrate this milestone, instead of our usual conference and research grants, this year the ITP has awarded collaboration grants to support members of the network in developing and delivering a collaborative project. Working within the ITP network, recipients use the funding to undertake a project with a collaborative element at either a local, national, or international level.

The aim of these grants is to strengthen and grow connections across the network, fostering partnerships between fellows from different countries or institutions, and supporting collaborations involving UK partner and British Museum colleagues.

This year’s successful collaboration grants are:
