In 2013 the Staatliche Kunstsammlungen Dresden (SKD) and the British Museum agreed a cooperation which made the Staatliche Kunstsammlungen Dresden the first institutional partner of the International Training Programme (ITP) in Germany.  Through this collaboration SKD offered two fully funded fellowships a year to ITP Fellows at one of their 14 museums in Dresden, Herrenhut and Leipzig. For the duration of up to three months the fellows had the chance to join the team of SKD for an international research project.

This series of research fellowships to selected ITP alumni, further supported the fellows’ professional development and international connections, and enabled Dresden Museums to increase the understanding of their global collections.
