Opportunity: 2026 Collaboration Grants now OPEN!

Written by Amelia Kedge, International Training Programme Coordinator (Legacy Projects)

Guidance information
Application form

2026 marks the 20th anniversary of the ITP, and to celebrate this milestone year we are placing collaboration at the heart of the projects we support. Reflecting the ITP’s belief in museums as dynamic spaces that connect people, stories, and ideas across borders, this year’s grant offering will highlight how cultural heritage is shaped and reinterpreted through shared practice and partnership.

The Opportunity
Instead of our usual conference and research grants, we are offering Collaboration Grants of up to £3,000 to support ITP network members to undertake collaborative projects at a local, national, or international level. Projects must involve at least two members of the ITP network and result in a shareable outcome that can be documented on the ITP website and blog.

We welcome proposals including (but not limited to):

  • Co-produced interpretation, digital, or online projects
  • Joint research or knowledge-sharing initiatives with practical outputs
  • Skills exchange, peer learning, or collaborative training activities
  • Community co-creation projects exploring ethical and participatory practice
  • Professional development or public programmes delivered collaboratively

All projects should demonstrate meaningful collaboration, professional relevance, and a clear outcome that responds to current challenges in the international museum sector.

Who Can Apply
Collaboration grants are open to:

  • All ITP fellows (2006–present)
  • UK partner museums and colleagues
  • British Museum colleagues

Applicants from any discipline, country, or ITP year are welcome. Fellows who have previously received ITP grants (2021–2025) may also apply.
