Biography

Nachanok is a curator at the Queen Sirikit Museum of Textiles where she leads on the conceptualisation, research, and narrative framing of displays across the museum. Nachanok is passionate about creating impactful exhibitions through thoughtful storytelling and effective design while addressing contemporary social issues. She regularly collaborates with other museum departments to develop exhibition object lists that ensure both preservation and relevance. In addition to curatorial duties, Nachanok oversees the museum’s academic sector, supporting public engagement through programmes, publications, and communications.

Nachanok has a deep interest in mainland Southeast Asian art and culture, particularly the historical ties between Thailand and Myanmar. This curiosity led her to study the Burmese language and, more recently, is examining its historical significance and ideological meanings. She is also fascinated by the Silk Road’s influence on artistic exchange between China, Thailand, and India.

Beyond the museum, Nachanok regularly delivers lectures and talks both locally and internationally on topics such as textiles, art history, museology, and archaeology. These opportunities allow her to contribute to cultural scholarship and foster dialogue across museum and academic communities.

At the British Museum
During her time at the British Museum, Nachanok was based in the Asia Department and her UK partner placement was spent at Norfolk Museums Service.

Nachanok’s participation in the International Training Programme was generously supported by the Marie-Louise von Motesickzy Charitable Trust.
