This session explored touring exhibitions, with a focus on content development. The British Museum has a range of exhibitions travelling around the world, from cross collections to exhibitions associated with specific cultures. Despite the variety of themes, the development of each exhibition remains relatively consistent.

The material discussed focussed on ancient Egypt, taking as an example the exhibition Egyptian mummies: Exploring ancient lives. In this session, we will provide an overview of the main steps of exhibition building and will discuss the many challenges from developing a narrative to exhibiting internationally during COVID.
