Biography

Yingchong is Section Chief of Educational Research & Development in the Social Education Department at the Palace Museum. In this role, she is responsible for the development and management of education programmes across the museum and in museum-school cooperation initiatives, as well as large scale education activities and promotional programmes.

Since joining the Palace Museum in 2015, Yingchong has developed 13 education programmes and 17 STEAM lessons; developed and presented 31 lectures; executed over 400 education activities; served more than 10,000 people; contributed to the writing of 9 series of popular science books; curated 7 themed educational series and led her team in developing 57 education programmes.

Currently Yingchong is working on a project titled Zero Waste in the Palace Museum, an initiative responsible for the development of education resources to contribute to the Palace Museum’s sustainability plans. The project will produce courses and study guides which will be available for free on the museum’s website. Yingchong is also working on the development of a child-friendly exhibition centred around the colours in the Palace Museum. In the exhibition, instead of objects, visitors will see pictures, models, gadgets, and artworks that they can observe, touch, and interact with.

Yingchong is also interested in ceramics and has a master’s degree in Historical Archaeology and Ceramics Archaeology.

At the British Museum
During her time at the British Museum, Yingchong was based in the Asia Department and her UK partner placement was spent at Manchester Art Gallery, Manchester Museum and Whitworth Art Gallery.
