Biography

Since 2021, Hilal has been working in the Collections section of the Oman Across Ages Museum. Within the role of Stores Supervisor, Hilal receives all incoming objects; and files, measures and photographs them to input the information into the electronic data management system; and ensures they are kept in a good environment store.

Additional tasks include measuring humidity readings to report to collections lenders; and cooperating with conservator colleagues on weekly gallery showcases inspection tours.

Previously, Hilal was senior stores administrator in the Collections Department at Oman Across Ages Museum. Academically, Hilal holds a bachelor’s degree in international business administration from the University of Technology and Applied Sciences – Salalah.

Hilal is interested in gaining international experience on collection registration and archives, collection management, conservation methodology, techniques of collections research, and exhibition curation.

At the British Museum

During his time on the International Training Programme, Hilal was based in the Middle East Department. His UK Partner Placement was spent at Lincoln Museum and University of Nottingham Museum.
