Biography
Bahra Abdulrahman has worked in various departments at Slemani Museum, including registration, photography and storage. She was Acting Deputy Director of the museum from 2011-12. She also worked for two years in the cylinder seal department, dealing also with stamp seals, seal impressions and stone implements.
Her current position involves working on a database of museum objects, as well as preparing the museum’s website and Facebook page. She undertakes some work within the education department, advising visitors, helping university students with research on museum artefacts, and acting as a media representative for the museum, including television interviews.
At the British Museum
During her time on the International Training Programme in 2015, Bahra was based in the Middle East Department. Her UK Partner placement was spent with Birmingham Museums Trust.
Bahra’s exhibition project proposal was entitled Small Objects Narrating a Great Story: Cylinder Seal from Mesopotamia.
