Biography

Esengül studied Classic Archaeology at Ankara University and graduated in 1990. She worked at the laboratory of Anatolian Civilizations Museum from 1991 -1993 and has been working as an archaeologist at Marmaris Archaeology Museum since 1997. In this role Esengül has undertaken roles on many excavations and research projects.

Since the ITP Esengül has worked hard to make changes to the permanent displays at the Museum of Marmaris. In 2013 Esengül received the award for woman of the year in Marmaris.

Esengül spent a year working at Muğla Museum, but returned to her role as archaeologist at the Museum of Marmaris at the end of 2014.

At the British Museum
During her time on the International Training Programme in 2012, Esengül was based in the Greece and Rome Department and her partner placement was spent at Bristol Museums and Art Gallery.
