Biography

Ayman is a Senior Curator in the Museum Department of the Sudan National Museum under the National Corporation for Antiquities and Museums (NCAM). In the Museum Department there are three main sections- stores, documentation and exhibitions and Ayman is head of the exhibition section. Ayman’s role is to care for the Museums objects in the galleries and oversee the movement of objects between the galleries and the stores. His daily work in the galleries includes checking the objects in the show cases, sending objects to conservation if needed and writing labels. He also provides support for researchers and students and receives official delegations to guide them through the museum.

At the British Museum
During his time on the International Training Programme in 2009, Ayman was based in the Department of Egypt and Sudan and his partner placement was spent at National Museum Wales.

Ayman’s exhibition project proposal was entitled Sudanese Culture.

Continued Dialogue
Ayman returned to the Museum in 2018 to work on the Department of Egypt and Sudan’s Circulating Artefacts project. The project aims to build an online database of Egyptian and Nubian antiquities that are in circulation on the international art market and in private collections and is supported by the British Council in partnership with the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport.
