Biography

Since 2012 Qi Yue has been working at the Foreign Affairs Department of the Palace Museum. She is responsible for communications between her museum and its counterparts, administration and management of loans, and exchange exhibitions with other museums worldwide. Qi Yue has a keen interest in the many aspects of international loans: from logistics to the larger issue of how an all-important deal is struck.

In 2016 Qi Yue took a four-year transfer from The Palace Museum to the Chinese Embassy in Romania, via the Chinese Ministry of Culture.

At the British Museum
During her time on the International Training Programme in 2014, Qi Yue was based in the Asia Department and her partner placement was spent at Tyne and Wear Archives and Museums.

In 2014 participants were asked to prepare a project outlining an exhibition proposal based on the Asahi Shimbun Displays – a temporary exhibition in Room 3 at the British Museum.  Qui Yue’s exhibition project proposal was entitled Three Purity Tea Bowl: The Secret of Emperor Qianlong’s Tea Taste.

Qui Yue’s place on the programme was generously supported by the Aall Foundation.

Legacy Projects
In November 2015 Qui Yue attended the ITP Mumbai Workshop Creating Museums of World Stories. The workshop was held at CSMVS Mumbai, India and was attended by many ITP fellows from different years and countries, UK partners and British Museum colleagues.
