Biography

Haytham is currently serving as Tour Guide Programme Coordinator at Bethlehem Bible College.

He completed his Masters degree in World Heritage Studies at the Brandenburg University of Technology in Germany with a DAAD Scholarship, his final thesis titled The Palestinian Tentative List: A Critical Analysis.

After participating in the ITP in 2009, Haytham worked as part of the Palestinian team presenting a proposal to the UNESCO World Heritage List for the inscription of the Bethlehem Church of the Nativity and Pilgrimage Route. From 2011-2012, he worked as a researcher at the Birzeit University Palestine Archive Project. In 2015, Haytham was a participant at the Site Management Planning and Management of Conservation for professionals, Welfare Association and Center for Cultural Heritage Preservation, Bethlehem, Palestine.

At the British Museum
During his time on the International Training Programme in 2009, Haytham was based in the Department of Middle East and his partner placement was spent at Birmingham Museums Trust.

An element of the programme was a morning of presentations, in which groups of participants presented a 10-minute illustrated talk, prompted by the task to consider a new display of the fellows’ cultures at the British Museum.  Haytham’s exhibition proposal project was entitled Venus in 360.
