Biography

O’bour Hashash is the Public Engagement and Production Manager at the Palestinian Museum, where she has been a leading member of the team for over twelve years. Her work focuses on shaping the Museum’s exhibitions, creative programmes, and digital presence to engage diverse audiences locally, regionally, and internationally.

Since joining the Museum, O’bour has overseen and contributed to the delivery of six major exhibitions, including one in Qatar, as well as numerous smaller shows and public projects. She currently manages the digital exhibition Gaza Remains the Story, part of a broader initiative of three more digital exhibitions that extend the Museum’s reach globally and ensure accessibility to Palestinian narratives across borders.

O’bour played a pivotal role in the production of the Museum’s opening event, which was successfully delivered under highly demanding circumstances. Over the years, she has continued to lead exhibition production, budgeting, branding, and audience engagement, developing innovative public, educational, and learning programmes that align with the Museum’s mission and strategy.

In recent years, she has spearheaded the Museum’s digital transformation, particularly in response to post-pandemic realities and the evolving political situation in Palestine. Her leadership has strengthened the Museum’s online visibility, expanded its global partnerships, and redefined how Palestinian culture is shared through digital and participatory platforms.

At the British Museum
During her time on the International Training Programme in 2014, O’bour was based in the Middle East Department and her partner placement was spent at Birmingham Museums Trust.

In 2014 participants were asked to prepare a project outlining an exhibition proposal based on the Asahi Shimbun Displays – a temporary exhibition in Room 3 at the British Museum.  O’bour’s exhibition project proposal was entitled Continuity and Change: Palestinian Embroidery Today.

O’bour’s place on the International Training Programme was generously supported by the Marie-Louise von Motesiczky Charitable Trust.
