Greater understanding of museum work: Antonio

The International Curatorial Training Programme 2009 has broaden my vision and knowledge of museum work and the mission of museums.

During the training I learnt many techniques that will help me to improve the quality of my work and also that of our museum; for instance techniques on object handling and cleaning, or keeping collections in categorised storage. I also learnt about documentation, on how to display textiles ans how museums in the UK work to involve schools and teachers in order to fulfill educational goals.

My first step in the implementation of these new skills and ideas consists of a plan to systematically clean and reorganise object storage in our museum.

I will also work in cooperation with schools and teachers in both the city and the countryside, holding talks and learning programmes using the museum and its’ collections.
