Neil MacGregor delivers a lecture at the Indian Museum
Today Mr Neil MacGregor, Director of the British Museum, delivered The Nathaniel Wallich Memorial Lecture on the occasion of 197th Anniversary of the Indian Museum.
His Excellency, The Governor of West Bengal Mr M K Narayanan has inaugurated the exhibition on Lavanya, The Beauty in Indian Art at the Indian Museum. Dr Gautam Sengupta, Director General, Archaeological Survey of India graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour. Prof Barun De, Hon’ble Member, Board of Trustee, Indian Museum was the Chief Guest.
Mr Neil MacGregor again, very strongly assured to work with us and initiate collaborative exchange. He also explained how we (ICTP participants) are like an extended family.
It was really a pleasure for me to attend this gathering.
