ITP Online Sessions Are Back for 2021!

We are very happy to announce that our Online Subject Specialist Sessions are back!! From February 2021 the ITP will host a second series of online events. See below for details about the first two ITP online sessions for 2021.

In October 2020, the ITP launched its first series of online events, in order to continue to share knowledge, skills and experiences with our global network. We had an excellent programme of 12 online sessions, given by ITP fellows, British Museum staff and network partners. Recordings of these sessions, along with other useful resources, can now be found on the ITP blogsite by entering the Course Resources page.

As part of our ITP Network Survey, we asked you for feedback on the online sessions. We received some very useful responses from this, so thank you all for your feedback!

62% of survey respondents said they attended one of 2020 sessions. Project Management and International copyright and artist’s rights were the most popular sessions with the highest number of mentions. The sessions averaged 24 participants and had a high retention rate. We have welcomed 75 fellows, from every year of the programme, from 30 of our 48 network countries. Seventeen of our BM and UK and programme partners also attended sessions.

The most popular presentation style was PowerPoint or lecture followed by a discussion or Q&A. The results also showed that the most popular area of focus for future sessions was exhibitions and in particular, online exhibitions and how to work through the COVID-19 pandemic in regards to this subject. Digital was also mentioned consistently including digital engagement, documentation and linked to the above, exhibitions. Conservation was also a popular choice.

Feedback regarding the online sessions was very positive, with many saying that they surpassed expectation. With all this in mind, we are very happy to announce the first 2 online sessions of 2021!
