The Eco Warrior Award presented an opportunity to showcase the role of tourism in creating awareness, offering necessary tools, and enhancing public opinion and support in the conservation and preservation of natural and cultural heritage in Kenya.

The application process was closed on 14 July and Kitale Museum, Lamu Museum and Karen Blixen Museum made it to the longlist under category 10 (Best Heritage Attractions).
