Hello from Caitlin, new ITP Assistant!

Hello!

My name is Caitlin, and I’m incredibly excited to be starting as International Training Programme Assistant with the British Museum. I’d like to take this opportunity to say hello to the ITP global network on my very first day in this role!

I have a background in Illustration, which influences my love of storytelling – both visually, and as a way of connecting ideas and people on many different levels. Inspired by research into museum’s, collections, and storytelling – I pursued a master’s in art history and curating at Birkbeck University London. My postgraduate studies deepened my understanding of how art and culture exist in wider social and historical contexts, and the vitality of cultural institutions in shaping conversations and making knowledge accessible.

During my postgraduate studies, I was selected as a member of the 2024 British Museum Youth Collective – through which I collaborated with peers on several events aimed at engaging diverse and young audiences with the museum. Through this programme, I was lucky enough to attend a previous ITP Object in Focus reception – and so to now have the opportunity of working as part of the ITP is a dream come true.

I’m looking forward to connecting with this network of fellows, and to meet the upcoming 2026 cohort!

See you all soon,

Caitlin
