The Cricket Museum, Indore
Concept and Design by Huzoor Nand Choudhry, Designer, Huzoor Designs (India, ITP 2008)
Located within the historic Holkar Stadium, The Cricket Museum, Indore stands as a one-of-a-kind cultural and sporting landmark. Spread across eleven thoughtfully curated sections, the museum pays tribute to India’s rich cricketing legacy, beginning with the celebrated son of Indore, C.K. Nayudu. His pioneering contribution forms the opening chapter of the museum, setting the tone for a journey that spans World Cup history, legendary cricketers, iconic IPL moments, and a dedicated section honoring women cricketers who have shaped the sport with distinction.

The collection housed within the museum is extensive and deeply engaging. Visitors encounter autograph bats, gloves, balls, and jerseys from some of the world’s most admired players. Antique trophies, rare match tickets, personal letters, and heritage cricket leather kits add layers of historical depth. The presence of vintage bats and meticulously preserved memorabilia offers enthusiasts an intimate connection to the evolution of the sport. Every display has been conceptualized to evoke nostalgia while presenting cricket’s story in a contemporary and immersive format.
The museum’s design—both interior and exterior—is the visionary work of Huzoor Nand Choudhry, who was introduced by President, MPCA (Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association) as an expert designer and entrusted with shaping the entire experience. From the colour palette and visual storytelling to lighting systems, signage, display curation, and spatial choreography, Huzoor crafted an environment that balances modern museum sensibilities with the emotional gravity of India’s cricketing heritage. His role extended far beyond the galleries; he designed the outdoor zones, the cafeteria, its seating areas, the landscaped surroundings, and the elegantly styled souvenir shop. Each element was planned to ensure visitors enjoy a seamless and memorable experience from entry to exit.
